Pembrokeshire has one of Wales’s clearest regional links with vegetable growing. Pembrokeshire Earlies have protected PGI status, tying the name specifically to early potatoes grown in the county, while generations of farming have made potatoes a familiar part of the local food identity. Today potatoes and seasonal Welsh vegetables are still packed in Haverfordwest, with Pembrokeshire Earlies joined by baking, baby, red and Maris Piper potatoes as well as PGI Welsh leeks.
