Cowleys Fine Foods is a family-run producer in Trealaw, founded by Martin and Suzie Cowley. They make meat and vegan jerky, fruit leathers, chilli sauces and preserves, drawing on historical recipes and techniques for drying and smoking food. One jerky recipe recreates a version eaten on the Lewis and Clark expedition of 1804. Their products also include jams and their own bacon jam. Cowleys attend historical re-enactments and festivals, where they sell their food and demonstrate methods of preparing and preserving it.
