Oktoberfest in Wales 2026: events, dates and where to raise a stein

Oktoberfest may have its roots in Munich, but the combination of beer, food, live music, games and communal celebration has found plenty of takers in Wales.

The 2026 programme ranges from large ticketed events to brewery celebrations, pub weekends and themed nights. Some are traditional beer-focused events, while others use Oktoberfest as the theme for entertainment such as Bingo Lingo.

The list below focuses on events for which a 2026 date and sufficient details can currently be established.

North Wales

North Wales has one of the broadest Oktoberfest programmes in Wales in 2026, with events in Conwy, Llandudno, Llysfaen, Criccieth and Anglesey.

Conwy Brewery Oktoberfest

Conwy Brewery is hosting an Oktoberfest celebration on Friday 2 October.

The event is advertised as featuring live music from The Oompah Stompers, Welsh-brewed lager, bratwurst and pretzels. It offers a brewery-based alternative to the larger marquee events elsewhere in North Wales.

Conwy Brewery's own website confirms that it operates from its Llysfaen site and hosts public events at the brewery.

Conwy Quay Oktoberfest

Conwy Quay is hosting a four-session Oktoberfest inside a heated marquee. The sessions are:

• Friday 9 October, 6pm-11pm

• Saturday 10 October, 12pm-5pm

• Saturday 10 October, 6pm-11pm

• Sunday 11 October, 12pm-4pm

Tickets are currently advertised from £8, with the Friday and Saturday sessions priced at £11 in the current first-release allocation. Group tickets are also available.

The event includes live music, singers, percussion and a DJ, German beers and a full bar, hot themed food, games and bierkeller-style benches. The marquee is heated and the organisers say there is seating for everyone.

Food and drink are purchased separately from the entry ticket.

Criccieth: Y Maes Oktoberfest Weekend

Y Maes is hosting a three-day Oktoberfest weekend from 25 to 27 September.

The event listing promises a German-tap takeover, German-style food and live music across the weekend. The venue's listing currently describes it as a weekend of events, with more details to follow.

The advertised opening period runs from midday on Friday through to 11pm on Sunday.

Llandudno: The Cottage Loaf

The Cottage Loaf is marking Oktoberfest with an extended Bavarian-themed celebration running from 18 September to 4 October.

The advertised programme includes German-style food and festive drinks, with the pub's regular food and beer offering providing the setting for the celebrations.

The Cottage Loaf is a long-established Llandudno pub with a focus on hearty food and beers, including beers from breweries in the surrounding Conwy area.

Llandudno: Wild Horse Taproom

Wild Horse Brewing Co is running an Oktoberfest programme throughout October.

The taproom is offering two special-release Festbiers in steins alongside a Bavarian-inspired menu.

There is also a particularly busy programme on Saturday 3 October, including:

• Stein-holding competitions at 5pm and 7pm

• Bierstacheln, or beer poking, from 6pm-7pm

• Live music from Kevin Pritchard from 7.30pm

• Prizes for the best dressed

The brewery is also incorporating its regular Run Club and Cycling Club into the Oktoberfest programme, with Bavarian food and Festbier on offer.

Llandudno: Tapps Micropub

Tapps is advertising an Oktoberfest celebration featuring German beer lines, traditional snacks and special guest keg and bottle selections.

The event is aimed at beer drinkers looking for a smaller-scale celebration rather than a large festival. Current venue information confirms Tapps@Craig-y-Don operates at 4 Mostyn Avenue in Llandudno.

Anglesey: Oktoberfest Môn at Y Marram

Oktoberfest Môn brings a distinctly Welsh twist to the Bavarian theme.

Y Marram is serving a Welsh-Bavarian sharing feast featuring warm pretzels, beer-braised Welsh pork hock, roast Welsh pork belly, Welsh pork and leek bratwurst, Bavarian-style potatoes, sauerkraut, Welsh cheddar and Anglesey apple strudel.

Wild Horse is supplying beer and beer gravy, while live brass music begins at 2.30pm. The banquet starts at 3pm, with a final toast at 7.45pm and the bar open until 10pm.

Fancy dress is encouraged, with a Welsh or German icons theme. There will also be prizes for best dressed and best table, plus a stein-holding competition.

Tickets cost £55 and include the full sharing feast and live entertainment. Drinks are purchased separately.

South and West Wales

The programme extends well beyond Cardiff and Swansea, with events now confirmed or advertised in Llanelli, Pembrokeshire and Neath.

Llanelli: Gateway Resort Oktoberfest Weekend

Gateway Resort is holding an Oktoberfest weekend from 2 to 4 October.

The Saturday programme includes Oktoberfest games and activities from midday until 11pm, with an Eine Kleine Oompah Band performing from 1pm to 2.30pm. The programme also includes caricatures, with further entertainment running throughout the weekend.

Sunday includes breakfast bingo and other activities, while the resort's event calendar lists the Oktoberfest weekend across all three days.

Gateway Resort overlooks the Loughor Estuary and Gower Peninsula and is located near Llanelli.

Pembrokeshire: Oktoberfest Beer Festival at Scolton Manor

An Oktoberfest Beer Festival is scheduled for The Green Barn at Scolton Manor on Sunday 11 October.

The current event listing confirms the date and 3pm-9pm times. Further details on the beer line-up, food and entertainment should be checked with the organisers before travelling.

Ceredigion: Oktoberfest at The Shed at Mwnt

An Oktoberfest event is also listed for The Shed at Mwnt in Ceredigion.

The venue has previously hosted its own "Mwntobierfest" Oktoberfest, combining Bavarian music, beer and stein-holding competitions. The 2026 event is currently listed for Friday 2 October, although detailed information about the 2026 programme is limited.

The Shed is a family-run events venue overlooking Mwnt beach and regularly hosts public events and live music.

Neath: Neath RFC Oktoberfest

Neath RFC is hosting its annual Oktoberfest on Sunday 27 September, with entry advertised as free.

The event is scheduled to follow the Neath versus Pontypridd match and includes authentic German snacks, German beers served in two-pint steins and Oktoberfest-style games and entertainment.

The rugby club's own website confirms the event as part of its 2026 programme.

Cardiff

Cardiff currently has one of the largest concentrations of Oktoberfest events in Wales.

Cardiff: Oktoberfest at Tiger Yard

Tiger Yard is transforming its open-air venue into a Bavarian beer hall for four Saturdays during October.

The programme includes a live oompah band, festive games, themed decorations, steins and German street food, alongside Tiger Yard's regular food offering.

Visitors can choose between afternoon and evening sessions.

Cardiff: Bingo Lingo Oktoberfest Special at Depot

Depot is hosting three Oktoberfest Special editions of Bingo Lingo.

These are not traditional beer festivals. Instead, they combine the Bingo Lingo format of bingo, music and audience participation with an Oktoberfest theme.

The current Depot events calendar confirms all three Cardiff dates.

Swansea

Swansea: Bingo Lingo Oktoberfest Special at the Patti Pavilion

Swansea's confirmed Oktoberfest events are two Bingo Lingo Specials at the Patti Pavilion.

The events are 18-plus, with last entry at 7.30pm, and combine Bingo Lingo's entertainment format with an Oktoberfest theme. Visitors are encouraged to wear lederhosen and dirndls.

Wrexham

Wrexham: Oktoberfest at The Savvy Fox

The Savvy Fox is hosting an Oktoberfest evening featuring Klaus & The If-Tones from 7pm-10pm, followed by DJ Anthems from 10pm-1am.

The £25 ticket includes a drink on arrival, a Bavarian buffet and live entertainment.

Klaus & The If-Tones are billed as an interactive oompah band, with audience participation, conga dancing, audience instruments, balloon games and birthday singalongs among the advertised entertainment.

Wrexham: Oktoberfest at Maesgwyn Hall

Maesgwyn Hall's Oktoberfest includes beer on arrival, a German buffet box and entertainment from DJ Dave and Klaus.

The venue's own events listing confirms the 3 October date, 7pm start and £25 ticket price.

Other venues advertising Oktoberfest

A number of other Welsh pubs have Oktoberfest pages, but their current information does not give enough detail to include them as confirmed dated 2026 events.

These include The Blaina Wharf in Newport, The Otter in Newbridge, The Red Kite in Caerphilly, The Y Cerrig Glas in Pembroke Dock and The Crown in Llay.

Their websites indicate that they have run Oktoberfest celebrations and plan to return in 2026, but do not currently provide a specific date or programme. They are therefore worth monitoring.

There is also an Oktoberfest listing at The Running Hare in Ewloe, Flintshire, but its current page similarly says the event is being planned for 2026 without giving a specific date.

What to expect at a Welsh Oktoberfest

The events vary considerably, so it is worth checking what is actually included before booking.

Beer and steins

Beer is at the heart of most of the celebrations. Conwy Quay is offering German beers and a full bar, while Wild Horse is producing special-release Festbiers for its Llandudno programme.

Other events are using steins as part of the experience, including Neath RFC and Tiger Yard.

Some events sell food and drink separately, while others include food or a drink in the ticket. The Savvy Fox, for example, includes both a drink on arrival and a Bavarian buffet, while Y Marram's £55 ticket includes the complete sharing feast but not drinks.

German-inspired food

Food is another major part of the programme.

Depending on the venue, visitors can find bratwurst, pretzels, currywurst, Bavarian-style potatoes, sauerkraut, pork dishes and other German-inspired food.

Y Marram is putting a particularly Welsh spin on the concept, using Welsh pork and Welsh produce throughout its Oktoberfest menu.

Oompah music and live entertainment

Live music is a recurring feature.

Conwy Brewery has The Oompah Stompers, Wild Horse has live music from Kevin Pritchard, Tiger Yard has an oompah band, and the Savvy Fox has Klaus & The If-Tones.

The events at Cardiff's Depot and Swansea's Patti Pavilion take a different approach, using Oktoberfest as the theme for Bingo Lingo nights.

Games and competitions

Several events include games and competitions alongside the music.

Wild Horse is holding stein-holding competitions and a beer-poking session. Y Marram has a stein- holding competition and prizes for best dressed and best table, while Conwy Quay promises Oktoberfest games during every session.

Fancy dress

Lederhosen and dirndls are a common feature of the events, although whether dressing up is required varies by venue.

Tiger Yard is encouraging Bavarian dress, while Y Marram has specifically chosen a Welsh or German icons theme. The Savvy Fox also encourages guests to dress for the occasion.
