Blaengawney Cider, trading as Hallets Real Cider, is produced by Andy and Annie Hallett at Blaengawney Farm in Hafodyrynys, Caerphilly. Founded in 2008, the cider is pressed entirely from Welsh apples - grown on the farm or sourced from local Welsh growers - with no additives. Traditional fermentation is used alongside keeving, a Norman technique that yields a naturally sweeter juice, and cider matures in a combination of oak barrels and stainless steel vessels. The range also includes perry. The business won Best Drinks Producer at the BBC Food and Farming Awards in 2016.
