Menai Oysters

Menai Oysters farms oysters and mussels on the Anglesey side of the Menai Strait. Oyster production began in 1994, with mussels added later when more ground became available. Oysters are reared in bags on trestles, while mussels are cultivated on the intertidal seabed. The business also processes and purifies its shellfish within the same operation. Oysters and mussels remain the farm’s two main shellfish lines, both produced from the waters of the Menai Strait.
